About The Project (and the mom behind it!)

In 2010 my family wasted virtually thousands of dollars on eating out instead of having meals at home. In December of 2010 I had an epiphany and realized that I would have so much more money for Christmas gifts if I hadn’t of spent so very much all year on McDonald’s sweet tea, Starbucks white chocolate mochas, and expensive meals at TGI Fridays and Chuck E Cheese outings!

This blog is my pet project for 2011, for my family to eat at least 90% of our meals at home instead of going out or ordering in. I
want to save money, lose weight, get and keep my family healthy, and bring us closer together by having more family meals.

I want to help and inspire all of you to make changes as well that
can help your family be more financially independent and healthy!
I’m no one special, just a wife and mom like so many others, I have debt and I get very busy with kids just like other moms, my husband is in the military and I stay home with the kids, we are very average…but at the end of this year I hope this project helps us to grow into an above average family health wise, financially, and emotionally!
